The purpose of this essay was to investigate affecting factors concerning social workers in Social services assessments with cases of abuse. We wanted to see if social workers in Social services tend to make different assessments of the need of substance abusers care. Our survey was carried out as a vignettesurvey with complementary interviews as means to deepen the outcome results.Our survey showed that the included social workers in Social services in some senses make different assessments when it comes to choice of effort put in for the client. We shed light on different factors and circumstances, which could bear meaning for the social workers in Social services assessments. Examples of factors were the social workers in Social services age, gender, working experience and attitude towards substance abusers..

    The purpose of this essay is to examine trust, or lack of trust, in the Social services. Previous research considering this topic is limited, which, in our point of view, implies the need of further studies. A quantative method was used, consisting of an online questionnaire containing statements about the Social services. The statements were designed using a five level Likert-scale which required the respondent to rate their level of agreement. The questionnaire was published on five webcommunities directed to parents.

The purpose of this essay is to explore the Social services work with crime victims in Sweden, according to Chapter 5, § 11 of the Social services Act. The study examined how social workers define the victim and assessing and prioritizing victims' needs. Our approach to knowledge is based on the hermeneutic tradition of knowledge. The essay rests upon semi-structured interviews with ten Social services? workers.

Many Social services cases have been reviewed in the media during the last years. One of those cases is ?Lasse and Karin?, handled by the Social services in Oskarshamn in 2002. Lasse and Karin had their son taken into custody by the Social services and the case was reviewed in national media. Through this case the Social services received much attention, of which most was negative, and their handling of the case was greatly criticized.

The aim of this essay was to examine what kind of help and support Social services departement can offer gamblers and their relatives. We also want to examine what the relatives to the gamblers think about the help and support they have got from the Social services departement. Central questions we asked were: What kind of help and support can Social services department offer the gamblers and there relatives? What kind of help is there to get for children respectively adult relatives? Do the relatives consider that the social worker have enough knowledge about the problem? Do the social workers consider that they have enough knowledge about the problem? This is a qualitative study of three women relatives to the gamblers, three social workers and one specialist in this problem. We have delimited the study to one big city in Sweden.

The purpose of the essay is to examine Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual person?s experiences of the Social services treatment. Our question is: How do Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual person?s experience the treatment in a relief seeking situation at Social services? We have a social constructive point of view. Our theoretical foundation is heteronormativity, heterosexism, homophobia, coming out/disclosure, intersectionality, master suppression techniques and we discuss Social services as a system.

The object of this study is to describe and analyze from a theoretical point of view which conditions, in what fields, by which division of responsibility and finally through what decisions these social enterprises are allocated a place in the market for social welfare services. The company that has been the object of study offers services in the field of social welfare and in employment. In the study a triangulation of qualitative methods has been used: studies of literature on the subject, recurrent interviews and observations and also reviews of documents. The results have been analyzed from theories on the space available on the market for Social services, on social economy and on social capital in the form of strong, weak and bridging bonds.

The purpose of this study is to examine immigrants' experiences of Social services' treatmentand their expectations of Social services. In this study we have used the following questions:how immigrants have experienced the treatment of the social service, the way in whichimmigrants would like to be treated by Social services as well as what kind of beliefs andexpectations immigrants have concerning the Social services' duties and powers. We haveused a qualitative method in the study that consists of ten semi-structured interviews. Thetheoretical concepts we have used are culture, ethnicity, cultural competence, professionalismand social psychology. The survey reveals a majority of negative experiences, such as afeeling of being ?tossed around?, suspicion and discrimination by the caseworkers due to theethnicity of the respondents.

The thesis had its starting point in the first paragraph of the eleventh chapter in the Swedish Social services act, which discusses the immediate risk assessments that has to be made when the Social services receive a report about a child. The thesis highlights an area that has received a lot of attention in media since the spring of 2014, when an eight year old girl was fatally abused by her legal guardians. The Social services had at the time received a report about the girl but it was left unread. This tragic case has brought attention to the routines used by the Social services for dealing with reports and risk assessments. This thesis was conducted through individual interviews with social workers working with children and families in the Social services, with the aim to acquire an enhanced understanding of how social workers perform immediate risk assessments and what these assessments are based on.

The aim of this study was to examine how the Social services could investigate and support children of irregular immigrants within the boundaries of the law. More specifically it aimed to examine the legal possibilities and obstacles for the Social services to support irregular immigrants, how the officials at the Social services act considering the legal aspects, and how they reason morally and ethically when dealing with irregular immigrants. To answer the aim of the study the theory of positive law was used combined with qualitative interviews with two officials at the Social services. Moreover a small quantitative telephone study with officials in the Social services and with voluntary organizations was made. The study has used theories of sociology of law, law and ethics, and professional (civil) disobedience.

The purpose of this study is to understand the collaboration between school and Social services. The primary focus of this study is the subject of interaction. The study analyzes how confidentiality affects collaboration between school and Social services and examines what effect the organizations? different roles have on collaboration. The method used is qualitative interviews and the gathered empirical data has been analyzed using theories of discretion and street-level bureaucracy.

The aim with the study was, that through a qualitative research approach, to examine in which way Social services employees perceive information about children with incarcerated fathers and how they furthermore relates to the child's right to both parents in these situations. Seven interviews were implemented with social workers in the Stockholm County to obtain informa-tion on the following questions; how the children's needs are noticed at the Social services, how employees discuss the child's right to their incarcerated father and which possibilities and obstacles social workers experience to promote contact between the child and the father. The ecology of human development theory was used in the analysis. The conclusions are that chil-dren with incarcerated fathers seldom is noticed at the Social services as a result of inadequate cooperation between authorities but also due to whether the Social services should be respon-sible for the children. Furthermore, children always have the right to maintain contact with their incarcerated father, with exceptions for situations where physical or sexual abuse have occurred.

To answer the purpose we made a critical discourse analysis using Faircloughs three-dimensional model. The choice to focus our study on a local newspaper was based on earlier research that found it possible that a local paper has a greater impact on readers than a national newspaper. Readers can more easily connect with what's happening in the immediate environment than what is written nationally. We used articles published in 2013 containing ?Social services?.
